Just one look at Domino and you knew he would be a star. Equally talented at dressage and jumping.
It was no wonder
Breyer wanted to immortalize Domino with a model. But they made too few. They were all sold and gone before the ads appeared in the national magazines. For years I searched and searched with no luck. Finally I decided to customize my own Breyer and make my own DOMINO. Using the same "Roemer" model Breyer used (and all the photos from Steele Away Farm's website) I painted my won Domino model. As soon as I displayed DOMINO at horse shows people noticed. DOMINO was a very popular stallion with his flashy black and white coat. At first I did not want to sell my only model. So, I just displayed it as a sample of my portrait work on Breyers. Then one day a close friend of a person who owned a DOMINO filly saw it and just had to have it as a gift. (Coincidently the owner had commissioned a Breyer Stablemate size portrait model of her filly a month earlier.) Click here to see filly.) With the help of DOMINO'S owner, Johnnie Martin-Carey, owner of Steele Away Farm, I created a new portrait model of DOMINO as correct to his markings as possible. With Steele Away Farm's approval I am offering individually hand painted DOMINO portrait models for sale. A painted model would make a special gift for those who have DOMINO offspring. And for collectors, a reminder of the great sire that was DOMINO. As a "thank you" to all such grand horses, a donation of $25.00 will be made to SIRE Therapeutic Riding in the buyer's name when you purchase from me (Olva Stewart Pharo) your own DOMINO model. |
